Glencoe and Lochaber are situated in the West Highlands.
Fort William is a good base for exploring the area.
Lying in the shadow of Ben Nevis it has a large variety of accommodation, bars and restaurants to suit your budget.
It is also accessible via a very good bus and railway network.
Ideal for the environmental conscious traveller.
The town itself is a junction to different areas in the Highlands.
From the big skies of Rannoch Moor and Loch Ossian to the mountain grandeur of Glencoe.
Pristine beaches and seldom climbed mountains lie to the West.
Steeped in history this area of the Highlands deserves more than the mandatory photo stops.
Suggestions for family guided walks are my Steall Falls and Glen Nevis Walk or my Glenfinnan Eco Tour.
Another option is to visit one of the numerous bothies in the area for a picnic lunch and a wee tidy up. Learning about the valuable work the Mountain Bothy Association do while we are there.
Fort William is also the end and start of quite a few long distance routes. Whether you want to do the West Highland Way, Great Glen Way or Cape Wrath Trail.
We can discover these routes together on our guided walk. We can hike a section for the day or do the whole thing.

Introductory hikes for the more adventurous in Glencoe are the Pap of Glencoe and Buachaille Etive Beag.

Coronavirus Precautions And Information
All trips will be subject to the government rules in place at the time of your holiday.
We will have to cancel or reschedule our trip if you are coming from a higher tier area than the location of your guided walk.This is necessary to protect ourselves and to protect the local and rural communities that we will be walking in.
All trips in 2021 that can’t go ahead because of restrictions will be offered the chance to reschedule or a full refund.
To protect ourselves and to maintain social distancing we will travel separately to the start of each walk. Where the walks are in popular destinations we may have to start early to ensure we have a parking space.
On our walk it will be possible to practice social distancing between ourselves and other walkers.
Please ensure sure that each person in your group has access to their own hand sanitizer for the day. Although while we are walking there are minimal touch points, it may be necessary to open gates or use bridges using your hands.
Face masks are not necessary while we are out walking together. However if you feel more comfortable wearing one it’s entirely up to you.
